Dont be confused by my films, they are not all films, more really just montages, a small minority will actually be focused work (even though thats my favourite style). My films look like a basic image/picture, however it will have some small text underlining the image saying “Click To Play” and you will find that the image acts like a link
There are so many advantages as to using quicktime on my blogs, but i’ll quickly give you my favourites
- I get to choose an image to represent the video, i generally choose a still from the film (usually funny or eye catching)
- The video’s default settings are not crappy flash (optional) files like youtube, facebook video, daily motion, myspace tv,,,, you get the drift. keeping this in mind, because they are not converted, i get to keep the original quality, because i use a mac and all my videos are made with a quicktime plugin!
Blip.tv is amazing seriously!
HERE’S WHY!
- First and foremost they let you host your videos in their original quality (quicktime), for free – Usually you would have to pay for 2 things; a website and quicktime pro. You would export the video and come out with a code refering to the videos location on your computer, and then post the code on your web page, that you would have had to pay for…. Unless, you have a wordpres acount which hosts blip.tv’s similar style of code For Free
- Quictime wont work on myspace because the code is similar to javascript, which myspace wont allow, because it can be edited to do naughty things like make spam and let viruses into myspace. so how would you put your blip.tv videos on myspace? ……… blip.tv automatically converts your videos into flash (the best quality encoding i’ve seen!) so that you can have them on your flash player based home page on blip.tv (kinda like a homepage). So there is a setting on blip to automatically send a flash version of your video through to myspace blogs and bulletins and to send the quicktime version through to my wordpress blog
- You may want to call that magic!
The End
